Krysia came to us at just the perfect time in Finn's development, the scent work that we've been introducing into his every day play has been great to tire him out both physically and mentally.  He's also turning into the perfect walker with the lead work that we've all been learning thanks to Krysia. She takes the time to get to know you and your furry friend, but also what you are hoping to achieve with her help. Her positive energy and willingness to help makes the sessions enjoyable for everyone and are extremely rewarding. We have been lucky to see immediate results, and with Krysia on hand if any extra help is required, we have felt looked after even in SOS moments with puppy tantrums! I had a great online session with Krysia who demonstrated with her very eager dogs how to train scentwork and then watched and offered support with my sighthounds. I would recommend anyone speak with her for training- she’s incredibly patient and clearly knows her stuff! My dogs are loving scentwork and are having a great time learning it. We attended a taster agility and scentwork session at Applegarth Sniffari and it was fanastic, Reggie really enjoyed it and we have kept up the tricks we learnt on the session. I’ve taken Charlie along to Krysia & Tara’s beginners scentwork course and we’re  currently part way through the novice trick training course, and we’ll definitely be signing up to both intermediate courses! I have a very intelligent little Cavapoo who loves to learn new things and needs a lot of mental stimulation, so I was looking for something that would be more fun for him other than basic obedience training. Both classes have been amazing and Krysia & Tara are so good at what they do, they explain everything so well and even in a class situation they pay a lot of attention to each individual dog to make sure they learn the way that works best for them. Classes are always followed up with recaps via WhatsApp which is a huge help to look back on and help and tips between classes means you get the most out of the course. Charlie has progressed so quickly in both courses and absolutely loves going and loves his trainers!! Couldn’t recommend enough!

It has helped calm him down and it works his brain. We are continuing with our training as both Dougal and I love it! Krysia is very knowledgeable and always sends follow on emails summarising our sessions and what homework to do. We also take our much older dog Angus to trick training classes which again are excellent. Angus loves going to the classes and learning new skills and we always get follow up instructions on how to perform the tricks and WhatsApp support. I thoroughly recommend working with Krysia . It has enriched all of our lives 😊

Do you offer home visits?

Yes, I do. Home sessions are often a great starting point, particularly for dogs who feel more secure in familiar surroundings. I’m always happy to discuss what will work best for you and your dog and we can adjust locations over time as their skills and confidence develop.

Do you work with reactive/anxious dogs?

Yes I do. Every dog is an individual, so I always recommend having a chat first to talk through your dog’s specific struggles and needs. This allows us to decide together whether my sessions are the right fit and how we can set things up in a way that supports your dog’s comfort and progress.

What training methods do you use?

My training is based on positive reinforcement and current behavioural science. I work in a kind and ethical way, always putting your dog’s welfare first and ensuring they feel safe, supported and able to learn.

Meet Krysia, founder of The Creative Canine

Before becoming a dog trainer, I spent seven years as a Police Officer in London, and worked across care, rescue, rehoming, and supporting children in schools and healthcare. That background shapes everything about how I work – calmly, patiently, and with a real understanding of behaviour.

I now specialise in scent work and behaviour from my base in Dumfries & Galloway, helping dogs feel safer and more settled, and helping their people understand them better.
